Acoustic Soundwave Therapy

Soundwave therapy was originally developed in the 1970’s as a way to break up kidney stones.  Over time, physicians have expanded the use of this therapy to treat patients with soft tissue and bone injuries.  Today, soundwave therapy (often referred to as Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy or ESWT) is used by leading sports organizations such as the NBA, MLB, NFL, PGA, and MLS.

Safe Pain Relief with Acoustic Soundwave

Acoustic soundwave therapy involves the use of low and high frequency acoustic waves applied to an injured area to aid in healing and recovery of muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and bones.

ESWT is used to treat the following soft tissue injuries:

  • Plantar Fascitis
  • Tennis Elbow
  • Tendonitis
  • Ligament Injuries
  • and more!

During your visit your therapist will complete a thorough examination to identify the injured area before administering the therapy.  Soundwave therapy is painless and your treatment will last about 20 minutes.  This is a non-invasive therapy meaning there is no downtime after your treatment.  Patients usually experience results in 1-2 treatments.
